Honestly, some people on here are WAY too paranoid about this stuff. Some years ago I used to roam these forums seeing people installing tens of security software etc. I was thinking I will do the same but I dropped the concept.

Instead I decided to use Linux. Much more secure by design. No matter how much software you use, Windows will always be vulnerable to 0 day attacks etc. No amount of patches can fix a defective OS ( in security terms ) etc.

To be really honest, I used to use Windows 2000 SP4 without updates enabled and NO ANTIVIRUS or any other software except Firefox and I never got any virus. It all depends on the user and his smartness and what you do on your computer etc. No need for thousands of softwares.
