I copied my partitions to a new and larger hdd using dd9. The copying of the partitions went quite well. Unfortunately the system does not boot from the new harddisk.

The system is a Thinkpad R50. First partition is primary and hosts XP on NTFS. The second partition is primary as well and hosts the IBM recovery system which can be launched by pressing the blue key right after switching on the computer.

Is there a way to make the system to boot again XP from the first (C:) partition?

    Hello Dominique,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Director Suite (http://www.acronis.com/products/diskdirector/).

We are really sorry for the inconveniences.

Please note that we don't guarantee that the new disk produced in the way you have described will be bootable. In order to migrate your system to a new hard disk drive please use Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/products/trueimage/), the "Clone Disk" wizard.

    Thank you.
