Dear Wilders, I ran CWS shredder on my WIN XP system tonight and it came up with a file C\Windows\smcfg.exe which it says 'maybe' a file from CWS 3, and to post this finding in the forum if I am unsure about it. So can anybody throw any light on this file please?.
    Thanks Gordon

    Hi ghodgson,

Very wise of you to ask this here :)

smcfg.exe is a legit file (modem driver) and has been flagged before when running the shredder.

It is however a legit file

The reason the shredder could detect this is because of a certain CWS variant using random .exe's. That's why sometimes a legit odd looking file (according to shredder) could pop up, while running the shredder.

We'll make sure to add it to the safe list :)

    Thnx!

    Take care

    Cheers,
