kardo, you have posted .153 for download. Both Kaspersky and Qihoo360 flag it as malware at VT.

moderator, did not intend to violate forum policy, only wanted to let author know, an issue with .153 that I did not see with .152.

@simmersK00L Thank you for the feedback. :)

I used new Code Encryption in latest version because previous Code Encryption was not compatible with Windows 10 anymore.

    Regards,
    Kardo

    Hi everyone,

BetaNews made a review of Crystal Security. :)

Install any anti-malware with real-time protection and you’re generally weighing down your system with services, drivers, DLLs, background processes and more.

    Crystal Security does things differently..

    You can read review here.

The program was only blocking the download for a while then stopped. I was confused about that .
    All is good.

    Hi,

MAX Cyber Defense made a video review of Crystal Security. :)

First video is about installation, user interface and settings.

    You can watch it here.

Second video is about malware prevention.

    Watch it here.

In my opinion it is quite a good review and it gives overall information about features and detection.

Crystal Security detected and blocked most of the malware. :)

    Regards,
    Kardo

I am seeing the same thing. Shell integration is not working for me on Windows XP. I am using the latest version of Crystal Security.

    Hi @bjm_

    Thanks for the feedback. ;)

Interesting. DPI scaling should be permanently off.

Yes. It is probably caused by your screen configuration but I'll look into it.

Open File Location opens 'This PC'. Advanced (initial) scan renders Suspicious: 2. Uploads: 0
Open File Location does not find path. I do not find path to "GAC"... C:\Windows\assembly\GAC

    Hi @bjm_,

    Thanks for the information. :)
I assume that you changed default settings. I mean that you probably changed the following settings

    1. Action for Suspicious files

    action_for_suspicious_files.png

    2. Action on threat detection

    action_on_threat_detection.png

By default, if suspicious file is detected, it should notify about detected threat.

If file is no longer available then Open File Location can't find file but if file is available then it will show selected file location correctly (just tested it).
    Great. :)

    Regards,
    Kardo

    Hello Kardo,
    Sorry, I'm not following.
    I toggled Auto Decision OFF
    Action for Suspicious is User
    Action for threat is Inform
I have two files listed with Suspicious (now) presume waiting for User intervention. Appears file is no longer but, CS found file and CS did what with two suspicious files. Since, I'm knew to CS. I did not want CS acting on it's own. So, I was going to intervene for these two suspicious files. I went looking via context menu Open File and then physically. Did CS act on these two Suspicious...? I did not Exclude Delete or Ignore.
Why are Suspicious files no longer available...? Quarantine is empty. Were files resident / resident archive or false detect.
Without SHA report it's hard to know what CS detected...

I allowed Unknown Object (Norton LiveUpdate) 5 times before toaster stayed away.
Does Allow close toaster on first Allow and stay closed or is file pending re-opening toaster.
Allow closed and re-opened toaster 5 times. Is this per design..?

    @bjm_ Hi,

    Thanks for the feedback.
    I'll look into it.
On-access option is enabled or disabled?
Maybe definition file changed five times. I suggest to white list whole Norton directory.

Please follow these steps: Open Whitelist section => Right-click and choose Add Folder to Whitelist => Find the following path: C:\ProgramData\Norton and click OK

    whitelist_folder.png

    I hope it helps. :)

    Regards,
    Kardo

    Hello Kardo,
Yes, I found (after reading same in old forum message) right click context menu Add Whitelist. Save your Add Folder to Whitelist pic for CS Help file. Added Norton ProgramData. Norton okay now.
    I've also Whitelisted a few more files e.g., C:Windows\Cryptoguard.
I don't want CS bumping my other security toys. Comment..?
Regarding #1595. I found (after head scracth) path of the two files deemed Suspicious by skipping \GAC_MSIL\ e.g.,
    C:\Windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL\HP.SupportFramework.ServiceManager\7.0.0.1*
    1) C:\Windows\assembly\HP.SupportFramework.ServiceManager\7.0.0.1*
    2) C:\Windows\assembly\HP.SupportFramework.Common\7.0.0.1*
Curious, why two out of nine \HP.*\7.0.0.1* files in C :\Windows\assembly\ were deemed Suspicious...?
    Crystal Security HP.Support.PNG
    Cheers
Edit: where do I find 'Trusted Items' list...?
    What criteria determines 'Trusted'..?
