Avast blocked the update file, and my installation became corrupt again... Another re-install, another whitelist.

Whitelist should be still there (even after re-installation).

I meant I had to whitelist the directory and URL in Avast. Yeah, the whitelist is still there.

Unrecognizing count doesn't change after the files are uploaded and scanned. (Weird some got moved after closing and opening the app)
Some of the alerts open with (20) in paranthesis even after i set 5 secs for notifications.
Unrecongized files are classified as unkown in both whitelist and overview correctly, however they need to get either safe or unsafe after their upload and analysis are completed.

 

Can you add start menu shortcuts to the installer? I mean isn't that the whole point of installing it? Would be a lot more convenient opening it manually than browsing into Program Files (x86).

 

And please make it optional.

 

Just noticed that a Desktop shortcut is created automatically, cause I always delete those...

 

Two requests:
-Process percentage during uploads
-Virustotal 1st submission date in decision popups about a file (just under the publisher name)

Currently I am using free version of Advanced Installer. I am not sure if I can add start menu shortcut option in free version but I'll make some research.

If possible please tell me how is the performance of this version and is there any error or issue because currently I am focused on bug fixing mostly and I'd
like to release RC and stable version soon (with additional languages).

@kardokristal So far so good. I would suggest another quality of life improvement. A button to purge the whitelist & blacklist of files that are not present anymore (deleted, uninstalled, etc.)

Not just from suspend unfortunately, but just sometimes happens...

 

@J_L Thank you for the report.

Can you please send me your Settings.xml file? You can find it from: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Crystal Security\3.5 Beta\
If there is no such file then please go to Settings and click Apply, wait a moment and after that Settings.xml file will be created automatically.

Bug report. Move to whitelist doesn't delete the file from blacklist and doesn't auto restore the file. After restoring the file, removing from blacklist and adding to whitelist I can't still open the file.

 

Crystal, doesn't launch on start up under my user account on Vista. I haven't such problem with my admin account. It will great to fix it asap.

Hmm.

Performed several tests with Eicar and PUA.

Test 1

Downloaded file, blocked successfully.
In Blacklist, right-clicked on file and clicked on Move File to Whitelist.

File restored to original location (with original extension) and launched without problem.

Test 2

Downloaded file, blocked successfully.
In Blacklist, right-clicked on file and clicked on Restore Selected File.

File restored to original location (with original extension) and launched without problem.

For me it works..

Currently I can suggest following workaround for you.

Please try to place Crystal Security shortcut to Windows Startup folder: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Looks like it auto-updated. Still not completely fixed though it appears to crash less often.
