Chapters 7 and 8 of the TrueImage 8.0 User's Guide (Transferring the System to a New Disk, and Adding a New Hard Disk) describe the partitioning process in detail.

But in Appendix A (Partitions and file systems), it says "Partitioning is performed by special applications--in MS-DOS and Windows, these are FDISK and Disk Administrator).

Can I partition my present unpartitioned disk and the new disk that I will be having installed tomorrow JUST by using TrueImage 8.0? Or is separate software needed for creating partitions?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

If you want to retain the data on your existing disk (which I assume you do) then you'll have to use a non-destructive partitioning application such as Acronis Disk Director Suite (the one I use) or Partion Magic (the one I used to use!). However, you can use TI 8.0 to partition and format your new, out-of-the-box, hard drive as there is no existing partition/data to retain.

    Regards
