HP dv9013cl laptop with Vista Ultimate.....

Well, I had recently tried to remove my XP partition from a Dual Boot Computer. Hosed up the boot record and had to go to a professional b/c I didn't do the latest backup before playing (lesson I'm trying not to repeat)

I'm trying to build a bootable recovery disk using Disk Director Suite 10.0.2160. I also have Acronis Tru Image 11.0.8053.

When I use bootable disc it gives me several options. I select the Disk Director option and it starts loading but then stalls. I initially thought that it was trying to load, but after leaving it for 30 mins with no change, I'm wondering if I didn't wait long enough?? When I use a Tru Image boot disc, I get an Acronis icon in the upper left corner while it is loading.

Just trying to figure out If I'm covered or not since it appears Acronis recommends DD 10 (if available) when doing bootable media.

    Thanks,

Does the Safe Mode version of DD load properly?

For the Full Mode version, have you tried the quiet acpi=off noapic option detailed in Section II of the PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU POST thread?
