    Can anyone help please?
New system with 2 HDD, 1 partition C: 320 GB
    Adaptec hardware Raid 1 controller
    Dealer installed Vista Business

I would like to have two partitions C and D
Disk Director 10 (build 2,160) leads me through the motion to create the new partition and reboots after committing but the new partition is not created.
    Please help

Try booting to the DD CD and doing the procedure instead of starting it in Windows.

If the Full Mode version doesn't recognize the RAID controller, try the Safe Mode version. Both versions can be included on the DD CD using the Media Builder program.

Also, it's a good idea to make sure you have a backup image of your drive before you begin any partitioning procedures.

    Hey MudCrap
    Thanks for the quick response
In the DD booting Full Mode version I got error message: E000101F Acronis Disk Director Suite has not found any hard disk drives
In the Safe Mode there was no mouse support but I tabbed my way through and it’s all good now. Thank you heaps.

is it true hardware raid or fakeraid (a physical card using a software raid chipset). i have never had a problem with any adaptec hardware raid card at all, the ones i have issues with are the fakeraid silicon chipset ones which adaptec bundle as hosted raid, aka fakeraid.
