Total Time: 55 Min 54 Sec
    Detected security risks

AntiVirus Gold Rogue Security Program more information...
Details: AntiVirus Gold is a is a purported anti-spyware and antivirus application to scan for and remove malware from users' computers.

Is this a false positive? I just scanned with NOD32 which did not find anything. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Did you install or ever have AntiVirusGold on your PC?

Also, did you upgrade from CounterSpy 1.5, or was this a new install?

Finally, would you please locate those two files identified as being in the CounterSpy quarantine, zip them up, and email the ZIP file to me at:

    Thanks,

This is CS 2.1.906 and definition version 500. I do not remember ever installing Antivirus Gold on my computer. At least not during the past two years or so. The last download I made was for winsnap 2.0 and re-installed NOD32. The first time I tried to download NOD32 I had a message that said the file was corrupted so I had to download again. Both downloads were from the ESET site.

I cannot find the files that are in quarantine. The spyware scan states there was one security risk detected, two are noted in the scan results and three are in quarantine (all three are Antivirus Gold). I also searched my computer files and could not find either Antivirus Gold, antivirusgold or avg_exe.

How do I locate files in quarantine? I can find "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users" but there is no "\Application Data" folder. Is that some hidden folder or something?

The Application Data folder is marked "hidden." To see it...

    1. Open Windows Explorer

    2. Tools >> Folder Options >> View

    3. Check "Display the contents of system folders" and "Show hidden files & folders."

    4. Click"OK" to save your settings.

Now you should be able to find the Application Data folder.

One thing I'm still wondering: did you upgrade over version 1.5, or was this a clean, new install?

    Thanks,

    This was a clean install.
