We run Acronis True image Server 9.1 and do our customers. We would like to find out if it's possible to take a customers Acronis Backup if they are having issues then somehow convert that file to VHD file so we can mount it into Virtual Server 2005 R2.

We can save the customer images onto USB HDD, then make a new Virtual Server then boot from Acronis CD, but Virtual Server does not support USB Devices so USB HDD does not appear to restore image from

    Regards

    Hello mcg,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Server Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Please notice that Acronis True Image uses its own algorithms to pack the backup, and there are no available tools to convert backups to any other format.

Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with Microsoft Virtual Server. But as it utilizes network, I could suggest you to perform restore from images stored on the network machines. You might want to take a look at the chapter 6.1.1. “Network settings in rescue mode” of the Acronis True Image 9.1 Server for Windows User's Guide.

    Thank you.
