I would say that I am pleased with ESET's results :thumb:

It would be quite strange if ESET would perform poorly in a review financed by ESET themselves.

 Can you envision the ad? "Buy Eset because we did lousy. This message paid for by Eset LLC." It wouldn't be good marketing regardless of the vendor.

for me it about protection first (ESET has done that for me) than system impact, quickness, (eset does well here) , tests are nice but 'real time use' is the real measure...

The title says it all: ESET ordered this test and obviously they are number one.
A real test would have sound: "10 security suites put to test"

Even if the test is sponsored the results are genuinely true. Seems to be vendors order these tests when they have improved while the other not.

This report is a good example of how a professional test is done. It defines the hardware and the software platforms, and explains the testing methodology. I wonder though why there is no focus on malware detection and removal? Just rating the performance aspects of security software seems to miss the point.

Edit: Note that there is now a review of ESET SS v5 on PCMAG.com - it didn't do too well unfortunately.

PassMark develops software for benchmarking. They have in-depth knowledge in this field. You should love the detailed and very well conducted professional tests, they are hard to find ;)

A better overview and I agree with their findings. If performance were THE issue then everyone would be running ESET. I prefer something that runs as trouble free as possible and this isn't it. :(
