I created a partition on a hard disk and made it a logical drive with letter "V". I used Disk Director. I don't use the Disk Director Boot Loader. I have XP installed on the same physical drive, in a logical drive with the letter "C".
Will I be able to install a Vista OEM on the "V" drive? Does Vista install it's own boot loader with a choice of XP or Vista? Is Disk Director somehow incompatible with this approach?

Vista will install it's own boot loader and allow you to load either XP or Vista. There is a shareware program called Vista Boot Pro that is a gui interface to allow you to modify the Vista boot loader. The reason you may want to modify it is to change the names it gives to the two differnt version as seen on screen, as well as to change the default OS to load to after a pre determined amount of time.

DDS's boot loader at this time is not setup to handle what Vista will do the boot files.
