OK I finally got it up and running and am testing it out and so far I really like it. I do alot of online gaming and I have added a few rules for them so they can work. What I am wandering is I have went to the internet filtering tab, clicked add, enterend the application and left everything alse alone. went back to the filtering tab and undid the stop sign. Walla the game can get on the server and I can play. Now what I am wandering is did I do this right? Did open myself up to the world now that I have done this or can only this application when running be able to access the web through the ports?
Looks like its back to Zone Alarm. I can configure it much easier and know that my settings are right and not comprimising me.
Find what is best for you and use it. You can test your safety with number of online security scanners (like the one on grc.com) And remember that ZoneAlarm has history od corrupting data... X.
according to the test on grc.com i dont even need a firewall because every port on the router is stealthed. I just mainly want it to know if anything is trying to access from within the PC.
If I knew how to opy my routers rule set I would but I got no clue how to do that. It cam prepackaged with this set-up.
*wha*...*gasp* umm.. err.. oouh... umm... I speethleth... whath can I thay? What company u use? I use SMC barricade... all closed, but some "open"... no stealth ports... Lucky dog
