my sons computer (dell dimn.2350 ) op xp is approx 2 yrs. old. this past week it started shutting down at random.

I started to look in computer maint. it would shut down as soon as i hit search (my computer). I have a wireless network with router hooked up.

My son did say he let a friend on it before this started happening.
does anyone have any suggestions , where to start looking to fix the problem.o_O?

Look around the site here. You will find your answer.

Too many things can cause a computer to shutdown.

You have to do one step at a time. :)

took your advise and started from the begining.
took that bad boy apart and cleaned it, it was the worst thing i have seen in along time.
plugged it all back together and waa la works great.
    thank you
