My computer has been experiencing a number of problems. Sometimes it freezes up; other times a blank screen comes up. Occasionally it will just shut itself off for no apparent reason, then turns itself back on. Sometimes it will run the program for not being properly shut down when it restarts & sometimes it does not. These problems can happen at any time, whether on line or not, and seems to be happening with more frequency. Per your instructions I have run Spybot S & D and already have Ad-aware on my system. My Hijack This log is included below.

    Vicki,

If you do not want this as your start page:
    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.webcrawler.com/
I would check it and then close all other windows and click fixed checked. Then post a new log....

Other than this, your log looks clean to me, but wait for an expert to come by and verify this....

    Regards,
    Kent

    Hi Vicki,

I don't see any malware in your log.
Does this also happen when you disconnect your printer?

    Regards,

    Pieter

I have a friend who occasionally works on my computer. I noticed an ad-aware icon on my desktop, so I assumed it was running. Should I disconnect my printer, then and run Hijack This again, or what?
