I try to connect a remote server from xp using the management console. but it can't find the remote computer(on the LAN), I install the software to the remote server using the console too and I checked the software is installed and running. but why can't the console connect to that server? (no firewal installed on that server) and if I click the browse button, it seems like the browse function to "Computer near me" is not working properly either. is it a known issue?

can you view the computer through the My Network places? also is the machine on the same domain/ workgroup using same protocols?

Is the machine SET to be displayed on the network or hidden? you tried a DIRECT connect to the computer via i.p ?
