GData appears effective, but causes very serious & lengthy (Read: Unacceptable!) delays when Virus Check & file updates are running in background.

All identifiable help file solutions have been tried to no avail.

Is there some way to suspend these functions when using computer for time critical purposes?

    [Processor: Intel 3 G - 2 G ram, Win XP Pro]

    TIA/Diog

Have you gone to the options in the Virus Check and checked the box that says, "pause the virus check at times of high system load"?
