To be fair this statistics aren't really interesting.

I want to see stats for proper version 4 testing, and since I've been told there are lots of heuristic updates/changes happening this year, I want to see what the results will be like late year.

 

Well as everyone knows, the best statistics are the ones made by the company that sells the product.

As elapsed stated, I will rather wait and see.

Personally, more AV's have now entered into the Great Heuristic engine arena or at least into the MATURE heuristic engine arena (AKA Symantec 2k9 SONAR and PULSE, Avira Antivir HIGH HEUR, Kaspersky AV Heur) and more will enter in the upcoming months. EVeryone knows that definition based detection is thing of 2005, right now it's behavioral analysis and HIPS.

 

Exactly, personally I can't wait until December and compare 2009 to 2008.

 

What both of you said is true but they are using statistics that are true from reputable AV testers! It's not false and misleading info.

Maybe, but there's most definitely room for improvement. Lets see how the new heuristic sets under development turn out.
