    Hi,

I have some issues with ESS 4.0 and other Security software installed (no AV software).
The installation fails, and in some cases the einstaller.exe just shows in taskmanager and shuts down again immediately.

The einstaller.exe is run from a url like this:
    \\servername\share\folder\einstaller.exe

The users are local admins, so that shouldn't be a problem.

The ESS msi package and the config.xml file is located in the same directory as the einstaller.

We have seen the installation fail (push installation) with F-Secure Management Console installed (not an anti-virus but the console for one).

Could the installation failures be because of vpn client software, wan management tools etc.?

If you have a ready to go answer I'll be grateful, as I'm going to the customers again tomorrow.

    Thanks

    Thomas

Try running the msi package on the local client with the "/lvx* log_name" parameter and, if the installation fails, send the log to customer care for perusal.

The other security software is Checkpoint VPN-1 Client and Riverbed WAN Optimizer.

I'll try the msi package with the parameters.

    Hello tbnielsen,

Put the ESS msi package and the config.xml file in the same folder and then run locally.

    Thank you,
    Richard
