To me this is adware - and provides no benefit to the user. Whether Kaspersky/Nod32 pick it up or not - it is not something I want.

I am torn between two terms for this thingee. Should I call it "adware" or "crapware"?:cautious:

In any event, I did not install it, although I do use CFP at present.

And it will be even worse if they don't listen to their user base and do not remove this !@*! promptly. Malware, Adware Whateverware, a toolbar is NOT a security product. Not even a "security-community" based.

    HI,

I see opportunities of Comodo to improve and align it with their income need to find funds for improving and maintaining free products

What I like about Comodo FW /D+ is that it check its white list and tells you it is a safe application. What I do not understand is that when it is not in the white list, why not check Comodo's (anti) virus data base to check whether it is a known malware:

    So:
    A) filter out the good guys (tell it is safe)
    B) filter out the bad guys (tell it should not be allowed)
    C) offer a pop-up with internet search (there own toolbar :D ) when it is not on the white and black list and send a copy to Comodo (data collection for analysis)

    D) offer a user friendly option to perform auto choices

They have the info and the mechanismes in place, so why not use it?

    I believe that's what they're doing.
And yes, toolbar sucks. The minimum is to leave the option unchecked by default. I think they will do that, sooner or later.

It doesn't seem to chew up too much in the way of resources on my machine.
It could use a makeover regarding it's GUI and the options available.
The only problems I've noticed with it is it takes quite awhile to update,
(I'm stuck with dial-up,) And it sometimes causes graphical anomalies with
a few of my game programs when it does it's inspection every ten seconds
so I just shut it off when I'm offline and playing games.

Other than that it pounces like a Cobra on any nastiness that wants to
play nonsense with my system and it works and plays well with all my
    other security toys. :thumb:

As far as Comodo Firewall goes, I think I'll wait for the next final version
to be released then maybe try it again. I'll stick with Sygate PF for now.

Comodo are currently developing their own Tool Bar to get rid off Ask Toolbar.

I regard toolbar as a leak. OK, let it be with them. But can anybody explain me what does mean "pseudo com" ? MSDN doesn't know such word !
