Ive installed and i must say they have been working pretty hard on their safe app database because i havnt had a D+ alart yet. only a few firewall alarts.

lets hope ver 4 will be good.

now dont bash me because im using CIS i know the company has its ups and downs but its still a very good free product.

If your running in "Clean PC" Mode then yes you will have very few alerts until you try to change something. That's when the Move the mouse click a Alert starts. :doubt:

haha ok :) but the AV did give off a FP which i submit via Website

    http://internetsecurity.comodo.com/submit.php

Which im sure they will fix it fast. but i do know the AV is not mature yet but lets hope it gets there like the firewall and D+ has.

Ver 4 will which was stated by a mod at Comodo Forums

    looks promising lets hope

im thinking that the FP is due to their Heuriscs its set to low by defult which could be the result. ive scaned my whole system and only 1 FP which was a Toshiba Program.

no big deal yet have to wait and see how fast they fix the issue.

im just testing it out again. last time i used it it drove me nuts but now its claim so far. which is a plus.

I have never had issues with Comodo updating on it's own. Usually it does so every 20-30min.

    Well,does this mean(my problem),that CIS is blocking it's own AV from updatingo_O? I don't think so.......

just adding signatures often doesnt equate to high detections, just shows they arent able to create much better general detections and just give signatures to every variant. at least for the most part from what ive seen.

That may be true, but the end goal is the proper balance between detection and useability (system load, false positives, etc.). How that's actually accomplished really doesn't matter, or rather shouldn't matter, to an end user. Personally, I could care less whether a vendor uses a pure signature, generic signatures, heuristics, or magic pixie dust as long as the target goal is achieved in reasonable fashion.

i feel the same, but the target goal isnt acheived and Comodo's AV isnt a top performer for this plus probly many other issues as well, but definitely the fact that they focus wayyy to much on individual sigs. but hey if they can make it work for them (which they havent yet), then good for them... and this way also means a lower detection of new variants, so id rather trust a vendor that uses more efficient technologies to achieve a better result.

  21. Comodo are reducing the number of signatures now. Comodo are adding Polymorphic/Generic/Daisy (Artificial Intelligence) signatures and these signatues are catching hundreds and thousands of malware at a time. Hence now Comodo can now get rid of the "single" signatures and reducing the database size, and at the same time, detection will improve with the new sigs taking place.

See progress here: https://forums.comodo.com/feedbackc...update_page-t34216.0.html;msg347377#msg347377 and onwards...

As for ver 4... Wait and see. :) It will be very quite and D+ will be smarter. :)

well i hope to see their AV move in a good direction so we will have to wait and see what happens. hopefully they can get themselves included in a trusted and official test someday.
