    OK, guys, call me stupid but I've got a question or two about Comodo IS.

    I've got it downloaded to my laptop but haven't installed it yet. Right now, I'm running Sandboxie and Defensewall. Combined, they've been absolutely rock solid in keeping malware away.

    Defensewall causes a major slowdown on my laptop, 2G RAM, Vista HP and 1.8 Intel dual core processor, but it and Sandboxie do the job, so I'll take the slow boot.

    Question: Do you all think CIS is as secure as the above?

    I'm aware Comodo is a hot topic and those who love it love it unconditionally. I do use Comodo Dragon browser and like it. The CIS, though, I'm not as sure.

    Was it a fake AV/rogue? Cause in that case the bug is known and will be fixed in the coming weeks according to the devs. among other things.

    What if you're running with the Proactive Security preset?

    Yeah it was a fake av. Didn't try it with proactive preset. Guess I'll try comodo again when they fix that bug.

    Yeah, don't count with CIS right now for the fake AV ones. :) Could be interesting to try the D+ on more sensitive settings like I suggested though, since I think this bug only affected their sandbox. ;)

    I ended up trying the same rogue with proactive configuration preset and same thing happened. It went right through and messed up the exe file association and who knows what else. Comodo in its current state I wouldn't recommend it to a novice user for protection. I would definitely hold out until the next version. Another thing, I tried downloading malwarebytes and the av detected it as unclassfied malware. Tried it again and it went through the 2nd time.

    Ran a malwarebytes scan and comodo left the rogue in the system.

    Files Infected:
    C:\Users\tester\Local Settings\Application Data\ave.exe (Rogue.MultipleAV) -> No action taken.
    C:\Users\tester\AppData\Local\ave.exe (Rogue.MultipleAV) -> No action taken.

    If you have a major slowdown with DefenseWall, it's not normal. You have to install the latest V3 build and, if the problem still persist, send me an e-mail to the support address.

    Yes, well... if you know how some of the sandboxes work, they don't actually delete the files, they just stop the actions. If the sandbox had worked as it should for the fake AV, it would not have started at next reboot. Only when the AV detects the new fake AV it will actually be removed from the system.

    Neither MBAM, nor Avira still detects the new trojan that I've on my disk. I just hope it wasn't able to modify anything, considering it ran in the sandbox, at least I've not noticed anything. Only HMP detects it properly. :doubt:

    Yeah that's what I was pointing out. The sandbox had let it through and exe file association messed up. That was the most noticeable change. A novice user would be SOL. That's why I wouldn't run this version of comodo on any novice users machine. Still needs bugs worked out. Btw, HMP is quickly becoming my favorite on demand scanner.

    Good choice, Hitman Pro just has to best detection rates of all on-demand scanners. I am seriously thinking about dropping my ESET and just go with Windows 7 and Hitman Pro on-demand.

    The girl had the hardest part in that clip, jerking around all over the place. It was hard to get a look at what she's normally like, but the pause button did the trick.

    The 53-56 second mark looked a little strange. lol :)

    JM, where do you find this stuff? ha

    I swear I've seen a few Comodo clips with 'eye candy' in them.

    Maybe andyman can do some digging around and lure some of this eye candy from facebook and send them over Wilders way (yeah right lol ;) ). I'm sure people's post counts will go through the roof if that ever happened.

    Remember the drive sentry thread? Blonde avatar appeared, suddenly people asking all sorts of questions. lol
