Thank you for the additional information. So the pictures shown here are obsolete, and have been replaced for 3.9? Is the default filled in now as allow, block, or not at all? Alerts should not show non-recommended actions as defaults. One thing I couldn't find by doing a search at Comodo was anything about how the one-click alerts actually work. Does it work in the sense of install mode and simply allow or block all related alerts automatically when you choose a one click solution to an initial popup?

Re: COMODO Internet Security 3.9.73015.489 BETA Released

When I installed the beta I did receive pop ups for the programs I run that were not recognized by Comodo.
Some programs had several pop ups such as the program itself, connecting to the internet and writing to the disk or registry.
I also received a pop up on a new install.
All were either allow or block.
Now that all my programs are recognized I have not seen a pop up in the last day.
Not bad since I installed this 3 days ago.
Hope this helps a little. :)

The thing that sticks out the most with the latest beta release is the much improved whitelisting. My trusted software vendors really work. This helps reduce the popups dramatically. Overall a very nice security suite.

If you are referring to the screenshot I posted showing the keylogger test alert, that is from the latest 3.9 beta, so yes, Allow was selected. Maybe that is because I am using proactive configuration.

I am one of the ones having problems with the Threatcast connection and have posted about that on the Comodo beta bug thread.

To me memory scanner seems to be non-existant. I disabled AV, executed two samples detectable by Comodo AV. Let them run in memory and enabled AV again. Watched for some minutes. No alerts from CIS.

That's because you disabled the AV. You disable AV, You disable Memory Scanner. Memory Scanner signatures are different from CAV Signatures btw.

Re: COMODO Internet Security 3.9.73015.489 BETA Released

So i installed Comodo 3.9, and tried it against 5 malwares, hoping that this time the Av just catches it before execution, and actually it did, as soon as it was downloaded, Comodo alerted me and they were gone, very nice performance compared to last time.

The whole suite is taking 7k of ram, and thats the lowest i have seen for a antimalware solution. Great performance till now, and despite being a beta its very stable.

Yes. The Performance is very good. :)

If you noticed the new Stateful File Inspection for the AV, That really speeds up the Suite a whole lot faster. That technology keeps the state of a file as to what the AV has done with it: for example if the AV has scanned the file once and it hasn't been modified (because the AV will check all the File i/o activity to know whether it has been modified or not) then it doesn't scan it. This speeds the whole thing up so nicely.. you will notice it when you launch the browser the 2nd time for example, not the first.

v3.9 beta should be very very quite too... Oh and by the way anyone wondering why ThreatCast does not work in this beta, It's because the services are unavailable at the moment should be back shortly. I imagine maintenance is being done.

    Cheers,
    Josh

Yeah i did notice that threatcast isn't working.

D+ is also very quite this time, last time (version 3. it alerted a lot when installing any software or uninstalling it, but now just 3-4 pop ups, and we only have to choose from allow and block.

Seems you are right. I tested again in the same way as before but made sure that samples being tested are detectable by Boclean. This time it did catch the malware in memory. :thumb: :thumb:

Anything caught at file level will be caught by CAV, Any malware not caught at file level but executes in memory will be caught by BOClean (Memory Scanner).

So, they share the same signatures or not?
    And if not, why?

They do share the same signatures. I am saying Memory Signatures are DIFFERENT. Not just relying on BOClean signatures. They all work together.

Well, not to take anything away at all from great protections with Virtualization and sandboxing, but it's sort of a mission to find a full featured set that can at least nearly if not fully cover & protect all aspects of malware intruder invasion without having to resort to virtualizing at all.

I will always use those safety measures, just looking for that group or single app that can cover for even needing those protections on a single machine.
