This should have been the release version. I tried both previous builds and reverted to Webroot firewall. However, the Comodo firewall has a better interface (if you don't mind too many windows) and doesn't have weird GUI quirks like webroot had (can't shift select all, can't delete log files in advanced mode etc.).

However, I do notice a potential bug. When I run the GRC firewall test it doesn't log every scan attempt. Is there a way to make this happen?

I like the way OA is laid out. Everything is right there on the main page. Ditto on the NOD v2.7 for a while. ;)

Tweeking to make it work reminds me of the ZA method of making the FW work right. :p

It still fails the GRC leak test when used alongside KAV 7. Passes fine alongside Avira Antivir though so I've switched A/V's to that.

All i can say is this is a very smooth running program and installed without a hitch. PC was fast, browser fast, and reboots seemed to be what is normal for my PC. Learning mode helped a lot in letting me use my PC and not be bothered that much with pop ups, and I think if it does what all it says it does, it will be very protective of a PC. However, as I found myself reading through the many different help and sections of the GUI I found myself asking if all this stuff was truly needed? It seems like a lot of protection, but it also seems a little overwhelming as well. Does this make sense? I realize I'm asking this in a sometimes paranoid forum where many of us want all we can get for protection, but again I ask is this just too much? I have currently uninstalled it to try and take care of a current ThreatFire install problem and CPF uninstalled just fine with only a few folders and registry keys left over. All in all this was a very pleasing experience and free to boot. No pun intended. LOL.

It is not being tweaked to make it work. It works fine for most.

I believe protecting registry keys and files is a bit over the top but other than that i believe this protection is ok.

Could someone please inform me on 2 issues?

    1) Does it still need online activation?
    2) What is the CPU usage while downloading a heavy file?

    Thank you.

    1) Online activation has been removed since version 2.2 :D.
    2) There was never cpu usage while downloading even in previous versions.

    1) Best news i 've ever heard about Comodo. I had lost any interest about it because of the online activation.
    2) Very nice.

I will proceed to download it then. Thank you very much for the reply. Much appreciated. :thumb:

That's good to hear. I had to uninstall v3 because of the outgoing e-mail not executing even after I added the missing ports per Melih, and the rapid fire pop ups. Do you think I can safely install the new update?:p

I installed Comodo... What can i say... Since the last time that i had tried it (briefly in version 2.x) it's like night and day. The resource usage has been improved beyond belief. Last time with p2p, the CPU was going over 50%. Now it's stuck at 0%. Its HIPS part maybe is a bit too much to bare and one could turn it off and switch to Threatfire, but i m impressed! The firewall is definitely a keeper!

You dont need threatfire. Why Vettetech? Because Comodo is so good, or do you mean I just don't need TF?

I see no purpose with Threatfire. If you have a good anti virus and firewall your all set. No need for a 3rd application. I am running NOD32 2.7 and Comodo 3.0 and I feel very secure.

Do you feel secure because of Nod and the firewall of Comodo, or does having Comodo's Active Defense also running make you feel more secure?

If only that were true. :cautious:
I guess it was maybe 10 years ago.
If you can stay safe with that, then great. :thumb:
But there are far too many threats today to rely on only a FW and AV. o_O
    Just my opinion. :D
