Hi, i currently use: Win7 Prof x64 with MSE.. i wanted to use OA Free but it doesnt have automatic updates.. so i thought i would use Comodo Free Firewall x64. Now i read that it would work best together with MSE when the defense+ is disabled. Will that also disable the HIPS ?

    what exactly does defense+ do?
If i disable it, will i still have all the security features which OA free firewall would offer (web shield,...) ?

    thanks

D+ is HIPS. Comodo doesn't have a Web Shield but it have a sandbox.

hmm sandbox.. its just like the use of vmware?

so why do people recommend disabling d+ ? HIPS is pretty usefull ? or isnt it working with mse?

    Sort of. :)
    I have no idea.
For me yes, is pretty useful. I'm running only FW and D+ with Sandbox Enabled, Proactive security. Overkill config for a casual home user like me.
And about MSE it should work OK with CIS (without AV component of course).

I think that the Web Shield is overrate. An HIPS assure protection much more than the Web Shield.

I'm fine with utorrent and protocol analysis, downloading/uploading at full speed.

it works with protocol anlysis, but try it for a day without protocol analysis and u should notice a speed increase, it was posted on comodo forums as well and they acknowledge it, so its a known issue
