    G'day all,

Yesterday evening a colleague of mine came to me with slow startup problems on his Toshiba laptop.
The main problem is a delay when starting "My Computer". During that delay, the screen becomes black for a split second as well. This issue was (obviously) not there before.

I took his HJT log and hopefully it will help you experts determine what is causing the problems:

    Cheers!

    Hi Zopperoni,

Downlload and unzip this file http://tools.zerosrealm.com/pv.zip

Inside find runme.bat doubleclick it and chosse option one.
Make sure to have exactly one explorer window open and post the resulting log.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Thanks Pieter,

I won't see my colleague anytime soon, because we're running different shifts, but I'll try to get his log over the weekend.

    Nothing visible in there.

    Download Beta-Fix.exe from here: http://freeatlast.100free.com/Beta-Fix.exe

Double Click on the Beta-Fix.exe and it will install the batch file in its own folder in the same location as the file you downloaded.

Open the Beta-Fix folder and double click on !LOG!.bat
[IMPORTANT! Before you run this tool please close ALL running programs and ALL open windows except for the Beta-Fix folder.

Relax, sit back and wait a few minutes while the program collects the necessary information.

*NOTE:If your AntiVirus is running a scriptblocker, when you run this tool, you will probably receive an alert warning you that the script is running. "Allow" the script to run.

    When the program is finished:

    Open the Beta-Fix folder.
Post the contents of Log.txt in this thread.
Do the same for the file Win.txt

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Hi Zopperoni,

I'm afraid we're looking in the wrong direction.
    Both those logs are clean.

Are the latest Windows and IE updates installed?

    Regards,

    Pieter
