Yes, I found this option on this nice site (for an overview see http://clonezilla-sysresccd.hellug.gr/doc.html ). It's not mentioned on http://clonezilla.org/clonezilla-live-doc.php , though ...:thumbd:

tlu, just to answer your previous question:
I used Debian version 1.2.7.7 from clonezilla .org, which is
    i686 .
Could you please clarify what you mean with 'SMP' difference?

SMP means symmetric multiprocessing (usually done via multi-core processors) which speeds up many things. The i486 version doesn't support SMP - but you used the i686 version which does.

thanks for the explanation, I was not aware of this difference btw versions before, but the fact i686 supports multiprocessing accounts for the speedier result using a core2Duo E8400 in comparison with a single core Pentium4.

I must reassert here my appreciation for Clonezilla 1.2.7.7 which i've used to clone back an image of a dualboot Windows-Linux with great ease, although in a lengthier time than commercial products perhaps, but it does it thoroughly and in a painless manner, a few minutes more are an irrelevant factor for me now.
What moreover strikes me favorably is : you dont have to install anything!
    you just use a cd!
