    Hi,

I'm hoping someone out there can help me.

I've decided it's time to try to remove some of the unnecessary ones and zeros that are clogging up my ram. The problem is, I don't have a clue what most of the processes running in the background are.

Some time ago, I saw a link to a page devoted to this very thing. It was a database of common (and perhaps not so common) windows processes to help people like me, who want to clean their cyber environment but lack the technical knowledge to determine a necessary from an unnecessary process.

At the time, I just wasn't in the mood to mess around with this stuff, and I made a careful mental note of where the link was so I could find it again (of course I didn't save it, and I don't remember it).

If anyone knows about this site, or has any good advice, I'd appreciate the help.

    Chris

My thanks to ronjor, nick s, and bgbghu. Those links should go a long way toward helping me tame my system.

Make sure you make your changes incrementally. Disable one service or one process at a time and see what happens.

Thanks Nick. I'll try not to let my impatience get the better of me.
