    Hi All

I mainly use firefox for my browser, but sometimes IE

I also use CCleaner, as often recommended on this forum

But after using it, I still find that typed urls in IE are left, even after a reboot
    Could anyone explain this?
Maybe a bigger issue, as tried using Clean Disk Security and the same problem exists

    OS is XP SP2

    thanks in advance

Well, did some searching on this forum, and it seems all cleaners aren't alike - as the recent poll suggests

D/L windows washer for a trial and it worked a treat with the url drop down list cleared in IE

Though would be good to know why other cleaners can't do this

I have CCleaner on my machine. I'm pretty sure that one of the standard setup aprameters is not deleting something 'till its ...umm.. something like 48hrs old (if I remember correectly). Don't know if that will help you at all ; :doubt:

    Thanks for the info.

Since running windows washer, IE doesn't seem to be storing any drop down urls, and that's when I'm not running w. washer. So can't test out CCleaner with the 48hr option turned off!

Perhaps you should consult the forums on www.ccleaner.com .

I personally use CCleaner 1.16.082 with no difficulty at all.
