I know a lot has been said about this and to each his own choice. But I feel equal parts make a better whole and after all the crap I have played here, feel I have found the one that will satisfy me on both ends. There are quite a few, that are good on one side or the other, and I decided only 2 that came close to the middle. I will add that Dr. Web has a shot at the middle in the future, but it came down to Norton or Kaspersky. I drink Vodka so I made my choice for the next 2 years. Collected all my refunds, and all are very nice in this area, and went shopping...This is just my story and I knew what I wanted but, I just couldnt find the right cook.

2 years, I owe Don that. The only suite that cleans, detects, has adequate antispam and yes they will have a little work to do with the PDM and Vista, but hell, I like only havng 2 choices.

FYI. You can still save a ton if you order the Suite or AV, choose 2 years at a reduced price, and in the coupon code section type, kis25go and see what happens. Damn good price.

    Hey, Jeff.
That's my friend. Now I can ask what is a good AV or suite, and get an informed, tried, and true answer.
In three years I'll have to try the code. I wonder if it will still be good?:D Too bad you did not get a Tweaky key.:D

I always like to see a repentant software changer.

    Regards,
    Jerry

KIS 7 is running very smooth. Time will tell and even the frigging web browsing setting seems to actually work well for once. I still think their PDM should be replaced with a simplified HIPS.

I think I feel an OA suite coming on.o_O

I don't know why more don't use OA as a stand alone firewall with an AV. I read of problems with the various firewalls, but don't find people complaining about OA. It must run real well with most security programs.

    Best,
    Jerry

I would trial it first. And the AV is not version 7. To me Kas7 and OA are the way to go, but again Vista is my un-doing right now. PM Mike Nash, he will be glad to help you and they do have their own forums.

Withe the KIS suite you can disable the firewall and PDM and add OA. This keeps the other features of the suite. In the old days it was OA and Nod, of course those were the "old" days.

I can beat that. I got a three year licence on Ebay, had it verified by Kaspersky, and received a serial, again from Kaspersky, to upgrade to KAV 7 all for....$19. Like you, I collected all refunds from other products that I was eligable for. So, in essence I made money and have three years of KAV.

    Hello everyone,
well im gonna get a 3 user 1 year license for kis very soon.
antivir which is on my sisters laptop is running out soon.
so im gonna install kis7.0 on it without PDM.
because she wouldnt understand the PDM and get annoyed with it
antivir doesnt have any HIPS and not many av's do so not having the PDM doesnt make that much difference.
plus the fact my sister is a safe surfer and uses opera.

Ise use Opera too. I also use KAV without the PDM because I use SSM Pro, which I would no ever do without. With it, I see no point to the PDM.
