Classic Shell lured me away from Linux. I downloaded the preview of Windows 8 just before the release and just couldnt believe that they more or less forced me to use the Metro-UI. Havent they learned from Ubuntu who did exactly the same mistake? They didnt even let you choose what to use - on a freaking DESKTOP!

I was ready to toss Windows 8 away when I read on some forum about Classic Shell. Installed it and then I started to notice how much better and faster windows was (and the stability!) from what I remembered. Slowly but surely I started to drift away from Linux. And now I´m back to windows (just when I thought I was out..." ;) )

I use Classic Shell and love it.
Yesterday I tried to install Classic Shell 4.0.4 as an update and Norton identified something it didn't like about it and quarantined it. This has not happened with previous versions. Norton would not allow me to install it.

Same here, but Norton will allow you to restore the file; it's not dangerous.

The file was flagged based upon Norton's reputation-based scoring and is a false positive.

WS.Reputation.1 is a detection for files that have a low reputation score based on analyzing data from Symantec’s community of users and therefore are likely to be security risks. Detections of this type are based on Symantec’s reputation-based security technology. Because this detection is based on a reputation score, it does not represent a specific class of threat like adware or spyware, but instead applies to all threat categories.

I've just started using Win8.1, and I love this tool! :thumb:

However, Classic Explorer is not working, does anyone has any ideas what might be causing this?

I love Classic Shell. I've been using it ever since moving to Win 8. It has made all the annoyances go away. It has made things easy.:thumb:

    Hi,

    Thanks for the help. ;)

Actually, it was indeed running correctly, but I thought that you could also change the skin, I probably need another app for that.
