Well I used the Material design for a while. I like the buttons, home, refresh, etc., blue star favorites, but not the rest...

Yes, I also reverted to non-material design. With new design everything is too small for me...

I like the new design, but I don't understand why there's no size adjustment in the settings. Do they really think that one size fits all?

I don't know what is wrong, but I had to disable EMET 5.5 Chrome mitigations. Else browser would not launch properly.

Thanks, GTG! 53 running smoothly on a couple 7x64 boxes. I like the 33 security fixes.

It happened to my Chrome 53 Portable version as well, and had to repair that extension. So far, the repair has succeeded.

If HTTPS Everywhere broke for you uninstall it and install it again. (repair didn't work for me)

I found for both Privacy Badger and HTTPS Everywhere that if you view the extensions in the Chrome store, along the top it says the extension had been disabled with a link to enable it. Once enabled they work fine.

I did the same, but it seems to break sites. I "re-enabled the extension" and the "may be corrupted" ceased, but a few sites failed to load correctly afterwords. Upon disabling HTTPS, the sites worked just fine. I thin re-enabling it while viewing the extension page may only fool chrome into thinking it is not corrupted however, it seems to still have issues.

Unlikely. Your "broken sites" are probably an unrelated issue caused by specific URL rules.

    x86
    dl.google.com/dl/chrome/install/googlechromestandaloneenterprise.msi

Differences between Consumer and Enterprise versions
    1. Enterprise lands in Program Files (x86) even though x64 is used, while Consumer in AppData.
    2. In a multi-user scenario, msi installs Chrome for all users by default.

Here are a couple other features you should be aware of:
    1. If a user already had the Consumer version installed and you push out the Enterprise edition to their machine, the next time they launch the Consumer edition it will detect that the Enterprise edition is installed. After displaying an explanatory message to the user, the Consumer edition uninstalls itself, the user's Chrome shortcuts are updated and the Enterprise edition is launched.
    2. The user's personal settings from the Consumer edition will be picked up by the Enterprise edition, as long as the version number of the Enterprise edition is greater or equal to the Consumer edition.

Therefore, I recommend to install Enterprise on a clean fresh system.
Also I recommend Enterprise version for those who are using programs like AppGuard or ReHIPS which block running programs from AppData folder.

I didn't get the usual UAC prompt when updating to Version 53.0.2785.101 m (64-bit), also, I updated my extensions and Privacy Badger has, "Not from Chrome Web Store" next to it but it is the same as the latest version in the Chrome store.

I noticed this as well, no UAC prompt. Weird. And I've got my UAC on max. They must have changed something.

So apparently these major performance gains with Chrome 53 come to us via PGO (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Profile-guided_optimization). PGO optimized builds just landed in Stable channel for x64 users with Chrome 53, while x86 users wlll get PGO optimized builds with Chrome 54.

On a side note, apparently EMET kills those PGO optimization performance gains.

I did get UAC prompt when I updated to latest version (Windows 7, UAC set to max). Do you have Chrome installed in Program files or in user profile folder?
