I have same experience. Since they announced that they've solved the problem, I didn't encounter them any more.
Did the new browser version just install also an extension called 'Google Docs Offline' without my consent? I have no knowledge what it is, so I turned it off.
New install or update? I updated it but didn't get new extensions. Although I use policy template that prevents new extension installation so somebody else should check if they got new extension.
I updated Chrome using 'About Google Chrome..'. Then I updated my extensions, uMatrix and uBlock Origin. For that to happen, I needed allow temporary 'behind-the-scene' in uMatrix. So I don't know if updating my extensions in 'Developer mode' temporary ticked got me actually that extension I have never seen before, rather than the browser update. Thank you Dragon1952 & WildByDesign, now I know at least it is not maybe nothing else to worry, except as usual the privacy perhaps.
Chrome 45 seems to have a problem with Comodo IS/Antivirus. Chrome.exe needs to be added as an exclusion from the HIPS module.
When you originally install Chrome it comes with a bunch of Docs extensions and apps that you can remove (about:extensions and about:apps) I didn't see anything new installed since the update, but maybe if you installed Chrome a very long time ago you never had these apps/extensions in the first place, and thus it is installing them.

Anyone having website rendering problems since upgrading to 45.0.2454.85 I have had to use Firefox several times because some web page elements were not showing up. Also had the problem with the How to Geek website thinking I had an ad-blocker. rrrh1 (arch1)
I didn't notice any problems after upgrading. I visited How-To Geek and didn't get any notice about adblocker (although I use one).
Finally, after all other major browsers, Chrome has Logjam protection: Warning could be little more noob friendly though

I see on the blogspot that it is being referred to as a Stable Channel Refresh, and contains a critical update to Adobe Flash Player (19.0.0.185).
