[Academic Paper in China Sets Off Alarms in U.S.

 

I have serious doubts the U.S will do much beyond either play it down in the media or appear to be "strongly committed to our nations security and will look into the matter very seriously and"...blah blah, meaning they won't do anything really. Well, perhaps they'll authorize more surveillance and spend more money we don't have, spying on the wrong people and the wrong places. The U.S has this weird habit of not preparing for anything until after something happens.

Anyway, yes, this sort of attack is possible and, if money isn't diverted away from BS programs no one needs/wants, and put into ACTUAL security and not just a bunch of blanket wiretapping and such, this kind of thing WILL happen eventually.
