    I have my suspicions about that. Has China ever come up with an "original" design for cutting-edge technologies on their own - that is, without stealing ideas through reverse engineering and espionage?

    I know a ban against China using Intel Xeon processors in their supercomputers was implemented last year so I believe China had to make their own processors. But using their own design? I don't believe that.
