Question: For those running, "Paragon Drive Backup Pro", Version "10.0.10.10505_000", can you test below for me:

Do you also get the below error, when Checking Archive Integrity, 2 times in a row, for the same Archive Image ?

    Steps that cause the error:

-- 1st time I run "Check Archive Integrity" on an Archive written to an External USB Drive, it completes with a "Successfully Verified".

-- Run "Check Archive Integrity", immediately again, on the same archive , and instantly displays error message box:
"File I/O Error - Error Source: Hard Disk Manager, Error Code: 0x1001b"

-- Now, if I Close/Exit - Paragon DB10 - GUI, then Launch GUI again, and proceed to run "Check Archive Integrity" against the same Archive Image, it Completes Successfully, once again !!!

... So, I am trying to determine whether this is a bug or whether my Backup Image - Archive has an integrity error and perhaps is *not* a good backup image archive of my hard disk ?
... Perhaps there is a bug when running Check Archive Integrity 2 times in a row ?

I wasn't able to replicate this with an archive that was stored on an internal hard drive. The I/O error indicates it's not an archive error but a device error. It's possible somehow it loses connectivity with your external hard drive after the first check integrity. To verify, please run two integrity checks on an archive that's located on the local drive. The point of this is to change the location and rule out what I suspect is the problem (external HDD usb connectivity). Even better if you can copy that archive to your local hard drive and run the check integrity.

    Paragon_Tommy,

I copied the Archives to my local c: drive and the same thing happens, if you try to Check Achieve Integrity twice on the same Archieve. However, you run Check Archive on another archieve and *not* get the error, as long as you run it only once on each archive and don't check it a second time either:

    For Example:

    Check Archive_1 ................. Successfull
    Check Archive_2 ................. Successfull
    Check Archive_2 (2nd time) ... File I/O error
    Check Archive_1 (2nd time) ... File I/O error

... Now, if I exit Paragon windows GUI and re-launch Paragon windows GUI, I can run Check Archieve on Archive_1 and Archive_2 and get a successfull. once again.
... Also, if instead of Exited GUI, if I hit F5 - Reload Disk Info, I will also get succesfull Check archive verification, on both archives, once again.

Now, actually, I don't expect to verify the same archive twice going forward anyway. I just wanted to double check that my archives are good and that this is a "bug".

    Questions:

    1. Just wondering are you running the same version of Paragon Drive Backup 10 Pro, namily Vers. 10.0.10.10505_000 ??

    2. Therefore, do you concur with me that this is a bug and that my archives are fine ?

    3. BTW, do you work as an employee for a Paragon where you can report this bug internally to Paragon or should I report this officially to Paragon as a bug myself ?

I was able to replicate the error. This was in XP Pro SP3 running DB 10 Pro (10505). The archive was located on a network share.

The first verify ran correctly and completed successfully. An immediate reattempt to verify the archive returned with this:
    db10pro_verify_error.jpg

Another attempt resulted in the same error.

Restarting DB lets the archive verify successfully again -- for one time. Same with F5.

Aborting the first verify attempt and then starting it again causes the same error (the verify doesn't need to finish).

    ----

I get the same error with the same archive in HDM 2010 Server (9369 / 15.01.10 / 10769) in Windows 7 Pro x64.

    ----

If I remember correctly, the archive I used for testing was created using HDM 2010 Server from Windows 7 Pro x64. Both XP and Windows 7 were being run in Workstation 7.
