    Hi.

I just created a new partition on my new Seagate 250GB SATA which I'm going to use as an external data storage device.

The new created partition shows up as logical disk and I would like to know if it is possible to change it to primary?

Thanks in advance for any feedback which will be greatly appreciated.

You can use DD to convert the partition to a Primary partition. However, if the partition is empty, you could also just delete the partition and recreate it how you want (Disk Management can do this).

If you have important data on the partition, make a backup before doing the conversion.

Start DD, select Manual Mode, right-click on the partition you want to change, select Advanced from the pop-up menu, select Convert. From there, use the drop-down box to select the Primary partition type, click OK and apply the changes.
