My system tray icons re-arrange on most reboots. Over the years I have never given this any thought, but recently my neighbor who has considerably more experience than I do has said that this is a sign of a virus or trojan. Is this true or does it not make any difference? Thanks for any help.

It just all depends on which app loads first as to where it is in the tray. Mine are very often different on boot up. Not to worry this is normal behaviour.

    bigC,

Thanks for the quick reply. This makes me feel better. Is there a way to change the order that the programs start or to re-order the icons in the tray?

Are there any programs to set the start order and the system tray icons?

Thanks very much for the link. I've downloaded and scanned and will install later. Will post how it works. Thanks again,
