    I tried changing drive letters with the newly purchased Acronis Disk Director Suite and now my pc won't even boot!!!!

    the main operating system (Windows)was on the L drive and the boot (system) file was for some strange reason on the C drive after I had to reinstall windows about 20 days ago. So I decided to make the L drive C and the C, L. Acronis rebooted the system twice before supposedly changing the drive letters and now I'm stuck with the welcome screen to windows (The blue one) but no way to log on!!!

    HELP!!!!!! I need my pc!!

    Hello Sofia,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software.

    Please create Acronis Report in the way described below:

    - Download and run Acronis Report Utility;
    - Select the "Create Bootable Floppy" option;
    - Insert a blank floppy disk in the A: drive and proceed with creation of the bootable floppy;
    - Boot the computer from this diskette and wait for report creation process to finish;
    - Collect the report file from the floppy.

    Please create an account, then log in and submit a request for technical support. Attach the collected report.txt file to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.

    hello there...
    unfortunately this is not possible as I have no floppy drive... the motherboard doesn't seem to recognise a boot sector for the disk anymore. I've disconnected all hard drives apart from the one that has the operating system on.

    seems i will have to try to fix the boot table because apparently it's not a valid drive table so it's not recognised as bootable... I can see the files but even when i tried to reinstall WINDOWS I got a "there is no valid drive"...

    i heard many great things about Acronis so I blindly purchased your software.. Both Disk Director Suite and True Image and here's what I get on first installation...

    help i can only submit what's in this thread :(

    Surely you must have a friend who has a computer. Does he have the Acronis Disk Director Suite on his computer too? If so then you can get him to burn a "Bootable Media Builder" CD by opening the "Tools" menu and then following the prompts. Then try using that on your computer to follow the instructions that Acronis Support gives you.

    hi fjord_fox.
    unfortunately I don't have a friend who's got Acronis installed.

    However... I managed to fix the problem by resetting MBR and reinstalling Windows.

    Will have to give acronis another try with True Image at least. Hopefully it will work.

    thanks for your time.
