    hello,

so, it all starts off tomorrow right, i wonder how many new things will be put into detail, maybe it will be the place were dr.web release their vista beta version, or the same for other companys needing a vista release.

i wonder how long it will take for news and stories from the event to get onto here @ wilders, anyone know? or is anyone going? :) V.I.P

im very curious, mainly about dr.web of course, about new things and where the future development will come from,im sure the dr.web staff are as knowledgable as other companys and im sure they have the resources, well .. i know they do.

Same goes for other AV vendors im sure, but i just hope they share some of this information to the joe-public like me. :D

ive started this thread, so people can give their news/stories, their opinions and their wishfull-thinking of what they want for the near future. :D

I saw ESET SS 3.0: it looks very nice. The firewall is developed completly by ESET. The AntiSpam module not. There will be also a standalone AV product like usual. IFF anything wents fine with the beta, in Summer v3 will be released.

DrWeb 5: I did not saw it, but if everything wents fine, it will be released within this year. DrWeb received again the missed samples, they will do their best to improve. Apparently there were some internal problems last time, due which they could not work on the missed samples.

AVK will release TotalCare soon, includes System Tuning, Backup functions and many other things.

atm, i do not know more, I am tired. in a full day i saw only a half hall.

    cool IBK,

waiting for the vista version of Dr.Web before any version 5, i thought they would have released it today at CEBIT, but once again, dissappointed with no vista version.

    As expected.
    This makes total sense.

One question, the v3 antimalware engine is a improved version of v2 or a brand-new one?
    Thanks for your report.

IBK, did you have any chance to get to the AVG booths? I would love to hear what Grisoft has for the future...

Please give us info on all products, not just the products that someone asks info about. :)

i was told 12th march for vista version (beta public), but something obviously went wrong, thought they were delaying it for CEBIT.

still i wait and hope, shame you didnt see anything of V5, we still dont have a screenshot of that new GUI *lol*

    ----

the vista version should have the new engine right IBK?

I have to say this is worrying me a bit. I never thought that version 5 would take this long to develop, keeping in mind that it could be nine more months. And that is if everything goes as planned. My licence is up soon and I'm not sure I want to extend it based on a product that I haven't seen.

Here is your chance Chris :) :) :) :) :) ... persuade him to remain in the fold of the good DR Web.
C'mon CSJ, come to the defense of Dr Web, you are the only one we have that can adequately mount a good defense.
    :D :D :D Don't give him any Guinness when he arrives :D :D :D :D
    LOL :D
    Cheers :)

ive made my defense already i think :D

if a user prefers another product, then that is the users opinion and choice ;)

ive spoke to a few staff with various different questions, and im not worried about Dr.Web and the progress for the future, and i have no worries they can 'keep up' with the market, they have ideas and deadlines and im sure they will be met, they also have the resources so no worries there either. :D

3 yr licence with spam, and i shall wait for the vista version ;)

i shouldn't have to defend Dr.Web, the software speaks for itself, sure you can take this as a good or bad thing, but it doesnt bother me :D

IBK thanks for the NOD32 3.0 Suite info. After a long delay it is nice to see that 3.0 is finally getting close to being unveiled.

i do not think so. i hope not (Vista users with uac already have enough windows to click :p).

AVIRA will release a new Suite soon (in 1-2 months).
AVG 8 should be released within this year (end of this year i think).
GDATA has also a business product which uses F-Prot + Avast (instead of KAV + Avast like in the home user product).
