I have no issue at all with Piriform making money from CCleaner. However, you certainly can market a product without trying to mislead your customers. The fact that CCleaner is available for free is no excuse for the misleading statement on their website.

I am getting sick and tired of the large number of software vendors who make misleading claims so that they will sell more copies of their software.

They state that the home version which you pay for is "The Most Popular Option," when quite obviously the free version is the most popular.

Wow, that's some issue you've identified!
And you're "annoyed to no end" over this?
But not quite annoyed enough to quit using the free software they develop for you, right?
I bet you if you asked 100 people if they are "sick and tired" of Piriform doing this, you'd be the only one with his hand raised.

Let's stick with the software and leave personal opinions of members aside. People will never agree on marketing practices for software.

For the record the "sick and tired" statement was not directed specifically at Piriform - there is an increasing trend of software publishers making misleading statements about the software they sell.

Secondly, I will stop using their software - no big deal to me as I only use CCleaner a few times a year anyway, and I have no use for any of their other products.
