Re: CCE 2.0 BETA released with Autorun Analyzer

Does it actually analyze the autorun list and give feedback about the entries or does it simply display all the entries? Just wondering if this offers more then (for instance) Winpatrol, or CCleaner.

it does a cloud look up of all autoruns entries and tells you if safe unsafe or unknown. ive been looking forward to this functionality for awhile. it does lack the function to hide safe entries at this time thou.

You can hide the safe entries the same way you can hide the safe processes.

Great, that has some potential for identifying malware entries. Do you know if it lists autostarting apps that are called from non-standard locations? For instance fake AV often runs from the \All Users\AppData folder, or Current User\AppData folder, which are not usually displayed in autorun management apps.

What to do with those FLS.Unknown entries. Will those be automatically uploaded to the cloud?

See no reason why v2 when fully released won't be portable. The current v1.8 CCE is portable. :D

    Really a good tool.
The SmartScan has improved a lot the latest version.
Also the GUI changes are welcome.

But, I miss some features of Autoruns, like the one to "hide Microsoft entries".

There is "Hide Safe Entries" though, which should include Microsoft ones.

But it is not a permanent choice. Closing KillSwitch requires you check that option again and again.

Did play around with comodo products for a while, though a rebrand of autoruns(not complete though) but really nice tool that should be included for post malware infections systems;)
