I have installed the Cardapio menu a few days ago and I think it is awesome. But when I want to use the ''file search'' plug-in it says it works with the ''tracker''.I have read on some forums that the tracker software is buggy and also disables the Ubuntu search.Does anyone have any experience with the tracker software on Lucid LTS.

I've used only used http://beagle-project.org/Main_Page Doesn't look like it works with Cardapio.

But I wouldn't be put off by some reports saying this or that Linux package is buggy. Everything is buggy on Linux at times, most projects move at a fairly fast pace and stability constantly changes. Also lot depends on your particular setup and so on. Just give it a try and report back, can't do much harm.
sudo apt-get remove --purge should take care of it if it doesn't behave.

By Ubuntu search I presume you mean nautilus? You can always just use find or locate from the command line ;)
