    All,

    We are trying to update True Image Workstation 9.1 from build 3718 to build 3887.

    When running the exe for the update, we recieve the error:
    " E0001006F - Failed to Read File:AcronisTrueImageWorkstation.msi
    Cannot read from file. A possible reason is that you do not have appropriate rights to preform this action."

    We are logged on as Administrator and have have admin rights.

    Also, during updates/repairs of the TI on some machines, we get blue screens.

    We have also tried to uninstall Acronis to reinstall the newest build and we recieve the same error.

    We have run the chkdsk / r fix that seems to be suggested for all problems and have run a registry cleaner as well (on one machine that we are having errors on). This is also a stand alone system, it hasn't and won't be placed on the internet, so I am fairly confident I don't have any bugs hiding in the system.

    The fear we have is that when the update/repair gives the error or blue screen, the windows installer or Acronis installer can't perform the final updates. Thus, we can't UNinstall to then reinstall the application.

    Many thanks to anyone that can help.

    Some things that might be worth checking.

    Check the temp folder and delete as many temproary files as Windows will allow.

    Stop any utilities that might be running in the background, such as OnCD or similar. Make sure you check in services.msc that these are actually stopped and not just unloaded from the system tray.

    Hello LabLounger,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Workstation Disk Backup Software.

    We are sorry for the delayed response.

    Along with bodgy's suggestions, could you please do the following in order to make sure that you downloaded the installation file flawlessly?

    - Download the eXpress CheckSum Calculator and unpack the archive;

    - Run the application;

    - Browse for the file and click Start to calculate the checksums;

    The MD5 value for build 3887 of the English version of Acronis True Image 9.1 Workstation must be [ 5f102e4f94bd54f2da556513911eddac ].

    If the MD5 value is not [ 5f102e4f94bd54f2da556513911eddac ] then please re-download your Acronis product.

    If it is not the case and the MD5 value is correct, please collect the installation log file the way it is described in this previous post of mine.

    In order to provide you with more information on the reason of the issue please perform the action described in this previous post of mine to enable Windows mini-dumps. In addition, please create Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post on the computer in the question.

    Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with a solution.

    Thank you.
