Picked up a new laptop this afternoon, uninstalled the trial version of Norton then installed ESET NOD32. I'm getting "error communicating with Kernal", checked for the ESET Service and it's missing. Try to uninstall and I get "could not delete key \Software\Microsoft\Windows\NT\CurrentVersion Image File Execution\Options\ekrn.exe. Verify you have sufficient access to that key.", hit ignore and a few more similar errors pop up. This is followed by "the installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file:C:\Program Files\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\TBDDDA0.tmp." I'm got administrative rights so I'm not sure what's going on. How can I get this uninstalled so I can reinstall?
