Can't Stop/Pause Scan

The scan has been on 87% for the last few hours, stuck on a large ISO file. I have seven infiltrations, but I am unsure how to stop the scan without losing them. If I click Pause, it goes to "waiting to complete scan" (and stays there for hours) and if I then click Stop then it contines to wait. I tried closing the gui process and attempting to kill the ekrn process to restart the program, but I got a "permission denied" when attempting to kill the ekrn, and nothing changed. When I started up the GUI again, it was still in the process of scanning.

Can I shut down the computer without losing the seven inflitrations I already found? How can I scan the remaining 13% of my computer without it getting stuck?

 

stop the scan, even if you have to crash the comp. Before you scan again exclude that and any other .iso
