Please help, I've been to every site I can find and I can't download hijackthis.
I just get redirected to "HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden
Internet Explorer" and thats only a fraction of the problem.

    Thanks for the welcome!

    It might help to know:

I've ran spybot and adaware a few times and "DSO Exploit" will NOT die.

Zone Alarm keeps driving me crazy with "advanced program control notices" because Windows explorer wants to use internet explorer to connect to the internet. (zone alarm says this is bad)

I'm getting blue screen errors all the time, and the worst part is this isn't even my computer. My sisters husband was screwing around (probably literally) and while trying to cover his tracks, crashed the computer.

I've reinstalled Win98 SE, done all the updates etc. Downloaded all the security programs....I'm no expert I don't know what else to do.

Ok, I'm about to freak out......seriously

I opened your email and read it, that was fine.

Then I clicked "scan and download attachment"
    (in yahoo) that was fine.

    Scan Results [Back to Message]
    File name: hijackthis1977.zip
    File type: application/x-zip-compressed
Scan result: No virus threat detected. Download Attachment

    Back to Message

Then I clicked Download Attachment and that went to:

    This is very strange.

I'm not sure why this is happening. U should have been able to download that attachment with no problem.

Let me see if i can get some assistance with this.

It might take a while so please be patient.

    Thanks.

I've seen several discussions in other places lately that mention that it was Zone Alarm itself that was blocking the file downloads. Now in many cases these people turn ZA off completely and the downloads worked, but that might not be needed. ZA has different modules and components which can be disabled separately.

You have Zone Alarm Pro, right? If so, you can disable Program Control, Privacy and Email Protection separately while leaving the Firewall panel enabled. Then restart your browser and try making a new download attempt.

OMG that was it!! TYTYTYTY It wasn't just the .zip files, it was .exe too. All I had to change were the privacy settings in ZA pro.

    1 down, o_O to go.

This computer is a compaq presario, I think its about 5 years old. There are alot of compaq programs etc running, most are out dated crap. I had alot of the processes disabled through spybot until using hjt. I would appreciate any input on those as you look over the log. Here goes:
