Can't Boot from rescue CD

I can not boot from my rescure CD using TI 8, build 791. (I was able to boot when TI 8 first came out but have not attempted to boot from CD for many months and created new rescue CD with latest build)
What appears on screen lasts such a short time I can not read it entirely. Heres what happens and what I can read.

Booting from CD ROM
No emulation
-Blue Acronis screen appears, then black screen
Starting Acronis Loader
Loading....
(the rest appears on screen for a fraction of second and can not read all)
Selftest time out
Failed to initilize
Hub.......(remainder can not be read)

I read of a similar symptom on this forum of a possible conflict with a SanDisk card reader. I tried disconnecting the card reader with no change
