    Fun fun fun... annoying annoying annoying...
    My server is downloading the updates and is uptp 4005 (the latest).
    My clients for some reason dont want to upgrade from 3994. AV i'm using is 3.0.684.0

    Funny part is when i cleared the cache on one of my client machine, my client machine rolled back to 3304 o_O

    Now this machine wont even upgrade to 3994 !!! I'm just gonna sit and wait and hope it will come good soon as lots of other posts suggested that it does.

    I'm stuck on 3948.

    Not only that, I can't seem to uninstall it. When I try it asks me to close down a couple of eset apps running, but it / I can't. I can't even stop ekrn.exe from the task manager.

    odd.

    If you can't normaly uninstall ESET product you may use this:
    1. Start menu -> Run->regedit;
    2. Delete key value: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\egui;
    3. Delete registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Eset;
    4. Delete registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eset;
    5. Delete file: %WINDIR%\inf\infcache.1;
    6. Restart your machine;
    7. Delete folder: C:\Program files\Eset( or any other vere was your Eset product installed);
    8. Download latest build from: 'http://eset.com/download' page and install it;

    If you will not be able to install ESET after all these steeps:
    1. Start menu->Run->services.msc;
    2. Look up 'Eset Kernel Service' and turn it to 'Disable' mode;
    3. Restart your machine;
    4. Download free 'Revo Uninstaller' Product from: 'http://www.revouninstaller.com/' and install it;
    5. Remove your Eset product with Revo.

    I think this will help you :)

    Thanks for your help.

    I can't carry out step 3 - I get something like 'Error deleting key'.

    Is it normal that I can't stop the ekrn.exe process?

    This is starting to be quite tedious and I haven't yet received any feedback from the ESET.

    Hi Marcos, I got your message and replied. Thanks.

    As I said, I get an error with that.

    I think that has to do with ekrn.exe being active.

    I've tried closing it using the task manager and the taskkill /F command via cmd. No luck.

    Any other way?

    No way that ekrn.exe is running in safe mode, perhaps you overlooked this important information and you attempted to uninstall EAV in normal mode.

    You can try to disable Eset kernel from services console or change permissions on keys. But in any case you can uninstall product in Safe Mode where 'Eset Kernel' will not start.

    PS To change permissions in registry you need:
    1. Right click on key ->Permissions...;
    2. Add your username to the list and make full acces for it;
    3. Try to delete key;

    This seems new. Only a few minutes ago, NOD started updating, and for some reason, jumped back to 3995. I did a manual update after that, and it updated to 4013 (which haven't been archived yet). What happened?

    I've managed to uninstall NOD32 altogether - thanks to those who have helped me :)

    I've installed a different AV. I've been using NOD32 user for a number of years but this incident has made me change my mind about the product. Not so much about the product itself but because I got no response from support when I first experienced my problems.
