Same problem here. However, after I cleared my update cache, I was able to get the 3995 update without any further issues.

This one took a while to pull, best guess is that the folks in Bratislava are bunching the updates together so they have less work to do on the site and get's you more protection faster :thumb:

    I'm stuck at 3994 too.
I was excepting an update when I booted on my machine, but there was nothing installed. I did a manual check and it said everything was up-to-date. I checked the ESET website and 3995 is out but I can't get it.

Is anyone else still stuck at 3994?

After reading this thread I decided to wait it out before trying to update manually. NOD just updated on it's own to 3995 at 10:15pm.

My NOD32 automatically updated to 3995.

But then 3996 was released and I had to click manually half a dozen times to get it. I cleared my update cache already.

    What's going on?

EDIT: It appears when it's not getting the update when it should, it shows "update.ver 0kb/0kb" instead of "update.ver 3kb/3kb" like it normally does.

These are updates that are release daily by NOD. There's no way all their software can connect at the same time to update. Some will connect sooner than others, that's a fact. I don't have 3996 yet, if it's out. I'm not worried. It will probably be there when I get home from work.

If not I'll try to update manually, and if that doesn't work I will need to decide If i should wait it out or end my life since I'm no longer fully protected by my AV, LOL :D

I think some of you guys need to be a little more patient. Just my opinion.

    Hi,

I have update problems too on multiple computers. My computer has a fresh install of Nod32 v4.x that is stuck on update 3890 (Feb 26!). I also have a few computers at work that have this same issue with Nod. The computers at work were stuck when it was Nod 3.x so I uninstalled and replaced with v4.x but that didn't help.

Cleared the caches 5 million times, repaired installations, complete re-installs, tried manually setting servers. Pinging update servers in dos actually helped a couple of computers but not the rest. This is really annoying because the product is paid for, otherwise I'd go with something else.

The message after attempting an update, as countless others here have already experienced, is "update of the virus signature database not necessary, the installed virus signature database is current." Except, like I said, it's not current, it's from Feb 26.

    Can someone help with this?

(Edited to clarify here that I have Nod Antivirus)

That's my opinion too. I think you're trying to update whilst the update itself is spreading through the update servers, at which point it probably hasn't reached the server you are hooked to yet.

I'm using EAV 4.0.314.0 and 3995 was slow to arrive, with manual attempts failing. It eventually turned up late yesterday and I've since had 3396 & 7, added automatically, so patience is a virtue!

One thing I noticed about 3995 was that it didn't seem to take that long to d/l. I'm on dialup and I think I would have noticed a 17 or 18 MB payload!

For v3/4 users it will split up into parts for easier downloading. I suggest you update to the latest version .417 though.

You posted your message after I posted mine about having patience. You are the only on this thread that should be trying to do something to remedy this situation. Everyone else needs to have a little patience.

This has been a problem for over a year. I am a developer and if they cant get a bug fixed in that time frame they need to close their doors.

patience has expired action is needed.

If by a year you mean a day then you are correct.
